What is Worship All About(1)

Let us make man in our image after our likeness and let him have dominion over the works of our hands (Genesis 1:26; Genesis 4:1-7)
The above scriptures give us insight why man seeks to worship and of a truth the right person to worship is obviously God.
You cannot look up to somebody or something not higher than you; to worship is to look up to.
God in making a promise to Abram swore by Himself as He could not find any being greater than Himself.

Then Abram at the promise of God became Abraham (A father of many nations). By this promise, God was declaring what was yet to be as though it were already. This mystery is God - who calls those things that exist not as though were already in existence. (Romans 4-study)

The intent of God creating man was for fellowship. Fellowship was to lead to a lasting relationship. A lasting relationship through revealed mysteries in God was to lead to worship. (Genesis 3:8-9)
God had intended that through relations with Him, man was to learn who God was and through this knowledge learn to love God and respect Him in return. Simply put this love and respect as Worship.   (Psalm 25:14)

You cannot respect nor love someone you don’t have a relationship with.
Worship is a different kind of love; it differs from that we have towards ourselves or towards our families, spouses and friends.
Worship of God is not praise songs, it is not crying and release of emotions, it is not dancing, and it is not giving.
Worship can lead you to praise songs, crying and release of emotions, dancing and sacrificial giving.

The summary of the Ten Commandments & the Law and the Prophets was this: Love the Lord thy God with all thy might, strength and soul and love your fellow man as thyself. In necessity; you cannot worship God without loving your fellow man. Even Jesus did say that you cannot love God whom you cannot see when you have not displayed a demeanor of love and patience to the man whom you see available in your space and environment.(Mark 12:28-34)

Worship in very simple and clear terms is: respect, reverence, honour and thanksgiving to God.
A sign of respect of God is that you will not lie to Him nor to your fellow man; you will not kill; you will not bear false witness; you will not steal-in summary put the Ten Commandments here and you will notice this great mystery in simplicity called Worship.(Proverbs 2:5)

God deserves this kind of honour alone. Why?(Proverbs 9:10)
Is God selfish, power wielding or overly demanding?(Proverbs 14:27)

Join me next time as this truth is revealed that for man to find balance in life; God is his stability and the process to achieve this is Worship of God.
God bless you.
